Lori Nelson is a Boston native who has performed in leadership roles in political campaigns, government relations and government administration for nearly a decade. After serving as Executive Director of the Black Legislative Caucus, she joined the Deval Patrick for Governor campaign in 2006, during which she officiated as liaison to communities of color and faith-based organizations, a role she will also take on in a similar capacity a couple of years later, to help elect Senator Elizabeth Warren. As this responsibility would become a key part of the Patrick administration, she joined the Governor’s Office in the same position, before becoming Deputy Chief of Staff at the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority.

Lori Nelson studied at Northeastern University and was a graduate of the first Fellows class on the study of Urban Politics created by the late Professor Joseph Warren. Her work in government and community relations continues as she currently advises a wide variety of clients, political hopefuls and elected officials statewide. She is noted for collaborative strategy, durable partnerships and occasional fundraising. She is often asked to advise political and civic leaders throughout the Commonwealth and nationally.
