Patrick Hyndman is a public affairs, government relations and strategic communication specialist. He has had an international career in the Quebec public service and in the associative sector. He has represented Quebec, first in Boston, then in New York, as Director of Public Affairs within Quebec’s network of Offices in the United States. His duties have brought him to promote the interests of Quebec’s institutions and businesses in key issues with the United States, including bilateral trade policy, energy, the environment, transportation and collaborative research. He has acquired a fine knowledge of the American political inner workings and economic context, particularly in the North East, both at the local and regional levels. He has therefore developed a strong network within decision-makers and influencers of the Quebec-USA relation.
Trilingual (French, English and Spanish), Patrick Hyndman has a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Montreal and a Master’s Degree in International Relations from Laval University (Quebec, Canada), as well as a graduate degree in European Administrative Studies from the College of Europe (Bruges, Belgium). He has been an adviser to the Quebec government on the United States, but also in the fields of immigration and diversity management. He has worked with the Inter-American Organization for Higher Education and the Canadian Association of Universities and Colleges, on issues pertaining to the internationalization of universities, particularly in the Americas. In that capacity, he has collaborated and developed projects with institutional partners in various Latin American countries.
